It’s almost time for the 2010 International Quilt Festival/Long Beach! The show, sale, and quiltmaking academy will feature more than 500 quilts, textile artworks, and wearable art garments on display; close to 100 classes, lectures, and special events; and shopping in more than 350 booths selling quilts, fabrics, patterns, notions, books, machines, sewing supplies, crafts, antiques, and gifts. Within the event is Make It University!™, a special area of the show floor featuring mixed–media, textile arts, paper, and fiber crafts.

At the Convention Center’s official area (Terrace Lot) parking is $10/ day with no in–and–out privileges. The Pike Center garage will honor the $10 cost if you tell the attendant you are there for Quilt Festival.

Volunteer to be a Quilt Angel to show and protect the quilts on display. For three hours, you’ll earn a special Angel pin. For six hours, you’ll get a pin and priority enrollment for next year’s spring Festival. Call Terri Winsauer at 281–758–2899 or e–mail quiltangel@quilts.com


  • • We regret that we cannot page except in cases of medical emergency. Please arrange ahead of time to meet your party at a specific time or in a specific place in the event that you are separatedduring the show.
  • • Do not touch the quilts (pick up a copy of Quilt Show Etiquette at the International Quilt Association booth to find out why).
  • • No Smoking. In order to protect the quilts on display, InternationalQuilt Festival is a non–smoking show.
  • • No food or drink is allowed in the exhibit hall outside of the food service area.
  • • Photos shot with available light are preferred and encouraged.Some special exhibits may prohibit photography—look for postedsigns or consult the show map in the center of this program.
  • • For their safety, children must be attended by an adult at all times.
  • • Quilts hanging in the special exhibits are not for sale unless otherwise noted.
  • • Lost & Found for the show and exhibit floor will be at the Information Booth in the main lobby of the Long Beach ConventionCenter. Lost & Found for all classes, lectures, and tours will be in theEducation Office, room 101B.
  • Due to safety and security concerns, rolling carts and luggage areprohibited on the show floor. If you have a medical need for a rollingdevice, please contact our show office (phone: 713–781–6864; fax 713781–8182; e–mail shows@quilts.com) for information on how toreceive a special pass with appropriate proof.

Quilt and Floor Photography

• Photos taken at Festival are for your personal enjoyment and forsharing with family, friends, and fellow guild members who could not attend. Photos are not to be used for any commercial purpose.They are not to be posted on any web site which freely permitsimages to be used on items that may be purchased, such as T–shirts, mugs, note cards, etc.

If you post your photos to your personal web site, you must includeappropriate credit for each quilt artist, and note that the photos weretaken at International Quilt Festival. If you post pictures to your account on a “photo–sharing” web site, you MUST also disable any function that would allow viewers to order the images on anygoods.

Do note that some exhibits prohibit photography, and this includespictures taken with a cell phone camera. Please refer to signage bythe exhibit or the floor plan in the center of this magazine. Please beresponsible in your use of the quilt photographs and help us toprotect the rights of the quiltmakers and wearable artists.

Photography at Festival is neither a right nor an entitlement—it is a privilege.

Booth Photography

• Do not photograph an exhibitor’s booth without permission, sinceitems may be proprietary. With permission, many exhibitors arehappy for you to photograph their displays.
