Final Fall Market Figures
It's been an eventful couple of months since the close of fall Quilt Market. By now, you've finished all orders (whether placing or processing), sorted through all the various contact info acquired during the show, and managed to catch up on all other business, right? (Yeah...neither have we...but soon!)
But we have managed to process final numbers, and can tell you that if you felt that the show floor was buzzing, your senses didn’t deceive you!
In terms of attendance, a total of 3,395 people enrolled for this year’s fall Market. Of those, 1,720 also enrolled for classes and seminars, acquiring valuable business knowledge and information to take back to their shops and improve sales and customer experience.
“The heart of Market may be the show floor, but attendees should also take advantage of the business seminars, classes, and events offered at each show,” says Founder and Director Emeritus Karey Bresenhan.
“Schoolhouse Series and Sample Spree continue to be among the most popular events at Market—and with good reason! They provide attendees an endless number of ideas—and samples—for selling all of those new goodies they see on the Market show floor.”
Speaking of which...a total of 559 exhibitors took out a total of 1,177.5 booths at this year’s show, a more than 2% increase from last year’s total. Of those, 36 exhibitors were entirely new to the show.
“Aside from all of the new products, one of the most exciting things to see at Market is all of the new faces,” Bresenhan adds. “They’re proof that the industry we all so love continues to thrive and to grow!”
The spring edition of Market will take place May 17-19 (with classes beginning May 16) at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon.
