Traveling to Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) is about 20 miles west of downtown.

Amtrak (1 800 872-7245) www.amtrak.com services Pittsburgh with a station Downtown at Grant and Liberty, just across the street from the Greyhound depot. Two Amtrak routes serve Pittsburgh: the Capitol Limited, which runs daily between Chicago and Washington, DC, and the Pennsylvanian, which runs daily between Pittsburgh and New York City through Philadelphia.

For a nominal fee, the Traveler’s Aid Society, also located on the baggage claim level of the Landside Terminal, offers a car seat loan program for passengers arriving at the airport with an infant or child.

One-way fare to/from the airport is $24 (plus fuel surcharge). Reservations can be made online or by phone at (800) 258-3826. After claiming luggage, passengers should proceed to the SuperShuttle customer service counter located on the baggage claim level in the rental car area behind the elevators by Door 4.
Port Authority Bus – the 28X Airport Flyer (budget conscious option)
One-way fare to/from the airport is $2.75; exact change is required and fairs are paid upon boarding. Passengers are responsible for handling their bags both on and off the vehicle. Tipping operators is not permitted. Upon arriving at the airport, you can board the 28X at Door 6.

ACCESS ADA Paratransit Service for Out of Town Visitors with Disabilities
Please contact the ACCESS office at least 2 weeks in advance of visiting Pittsburgh to register for traveling. You will be sent a simple application to complete, which you can request by calling Anna Captain at (412) 562-5353 or by e-mail (email@example.com) Attach proof of your out-of county residence to the application, (ex: copy of any utility bill or a copy of your voter registration card) displaying your current address. If you are eligible for paratransit service where you live, then send us a copy of your Paratransit Identification Card. If your disability is apparent (you use a mobility aid or a service animal) you are not required to provide verification of your disability.

Getting Around Town
The Port Authority
The Port Authority of Allegheny County has more than 700 buses, 83 light rail vehicles and the Monongahela and Duquesne Inclines to make getting around Pittsburgh quick and easy. Riding Port Authority will save money on car rentals, parking fees, and gas. The light rail system and three dedicated busways will help you to avoid traffic congestion and alleviate the tension associated with driving in an unfamiliar city. The Port Authority also sponsors the ACCESS program, the nation’s largest paratransit program of its kind for senior citizens and persons with disabilities. Subway - The 'T'
The T is a 26.2-mile light rail system that runs from the North Shore and Downtown Pittsburgh through Pittsburgh's southern neighborhoods and many South Hills suburbs. The 'T' serves downtown Pittsburgh with a four-stop loop including stops at First Avenue Parking Garage, Steel Plaza at Grant Street, Wood Street, and Gateway Center. You can take any public bus for FREE prior to 7pm. After 7pm, riders pay zone 1. Stops are located all throughout downtown and also near the convention center. Check The Port Authority of Allegheny County for more information.
