HOUSTON – June 24, 2019 – Quilts, Inc., producers of International Quilt Festival and International Quilt Market, has named Rhianna Griffin to the position of Director of New Media. In addition, she will join the Executive Committee, whose duty it is to make decisions about and plan the company’s shows and activities, as well as map out future endeavors.
“Rhianna has been the driving force in elevating Quilts, Inc.’s social media profile, in developing its online marketing efforts, and in devising the Quilts, Inc. app,” say Quilts, Inc. President/CEO Karey Bresenhan and Executive Vice President Nancy O’Bryant. “We depend on her to keep the company abreast of the latest trends in the digital world, but her contributions extend far beyond that. She is also frequently the face of the company for media interviews.”
In addition to overseeing and creating content for the company’s multiple social media platforms for both Market and Festival, Griffin also develops email marketing for other Quilts, Inc. projects and programs like the upcoming Threads of Success conference.
Griffin is also the editor/chief writer of the monthly eInsider (for the quilting industry) and the quarterly Friends@Festival (for the general public) ezines. Finally, she conducts the company’s brainstorming sessions and has given staff tutorials on software programming, also building the websites for Threads of Success and the online store of the affiliated Texas Quilt Museum.
“Since beginning my career at Quilts, Inc., I have worked in many capacities within the company and taken on numerous new and exciting projects and initiatives,” Griffin says. “While I will continue my work in moving the company forward in the digital arena and expanding our online content and audience, I am also looking forward to the opportunity to contribute my ideas and experience to a larger conversation about the direction of our shows and company.”
Griffin has been with the company since 2006 and will continue her duties as part of Quilts, Inc. Publications & Public Information division, along with Executive Vice President Nancy O’Bryant and Vice President of Communications Bob Ruggiero.
