Quilt Angel Coordinator

General Information:

Please read ALL the information about your position BEFORE you come to work.

If your goal is to receive priority enrollment, you must volunteer for at least a total of 6 hours.

This will earn you a chance to get into the popular classes that have been filled with out the volunteer time. You may hang or watch over the quilts or any job I still need to fill if you like.

During Set-up:
  • There will be no food vendors open Oct 22nd to Oct 24th. There will be limited food starting on Oct 25th.
  • Please be sure to bring a packed lunch, snack, or dinner.
  • There will be a water station during set-up and takedown on the show floor. Bring a labeled bottle of water to refill.
  • During set-up, we will have bag check downstairs in the back of Hall C for your personal belongings. Use fanny packs for money and important items.
  • Parking is free during this time behind the building. Park as close to Hall C or B as possible!

VOLUNTEER/SHOW ASSISTANT CHECK-IN DESK

DURING SET-UP/HANGING from TUES.-FRI. there will be a check-in desk located at the back of Hall C. Allow plenty of time to check-in before your scheduled shift and be prepared to stay a few minutes after your shift.

Before Market – Note: You DO NOT have to pay for parking Oct. 22nd-Oct 25th. Parking is free! On Thursday & Friday exhibitors arrive and parking gets tight in the back. The exhibitors should be parking in back of Halls D & E. Parking should be easier behind Hall B, as there is no show scheduled in that hall.

WHAT TO BRING DURING SET UP
  • Bring your driver’s license or other I.D.
  • Bring lunch during set-up. There will be no place to buy lunch at the convention center during set-up.
  • Bring bottled water that can be refilled from the water dispenser.

WHAT TO WEAR

For Setup:

  1. Wear clothing suitable for climbing ladders. Please do not wear short shorts, open-toed shoes, or droopy pants.
  2. Please do not wear make-up, heavy perfume, or cologne when working with the quilts. Make-up does not come off quilts.
  3. Wear white gloves at all times when handling quilts (we will provide them).

During the show

Please dress nice, no jeans & no tshirts. Comfortable shoes. Our motto is: Fashion stops at the knees!

If you are watching over the quilts, please wear light on top and dark on bottom.

If you would like to volunteer more and are not scheduled, you may contact me at the show.

During the show, you may call or come by my desk to discuss hours.

Quilt Angels during the show hours you will mainly be watching over the quilts.

Please let me know what day and hours you are available for. I am happy to accommodate you.

TAKEDOWN On Sunday

Please come to the Volunteer/Show Assistant Check-in Desk to sign in and receive instructions.

After you have checked in, go to Bag Check in front of Hall D. They will hold your purchases. You will receive a wristband to show you are on the takedown crew. We will begin a training session to teach you our procedures of packing the quilts, starting at 3:00p. The show closes at 4:00 and takedown will begin as soon as the floor is cleared. We will feed you dinner between 7:ish-8:30ish. If you have any food allergies, please let us know asap.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Have a safe trip in! 😊

Thank you!
