Proposing a Business Seminar, Take & Teach, or Schoolhouse Session at Quilt Market

Business SeminarS

Business seminars are either one or two hours and are intended to share tips and ideas on how to run your business. These seminars are not product driven. Topics might include taxes, employee management, display, scheduling classes, advertising, or Facebook & internet venues.

Take & Teach

Take & Teach is a 90-minute session held each morning before Quilt Market doors open. In each daily session, there are anywhere from12-15 classes offered. These mini-classes provide hands-on seminars and demonstrations by representatives of International Quilt Market exhibitors about their product.

For example, at the fall show, there might be a classroom on 25 machines, where each attendee in the
Take & Teach session will create a shop sample of your pattern to take back home with them. In addition, you may have a hands-on session with a kit provided, so shop owners and teachers can learn to use and to teach your product.

Schoolhouse

Schoolhouse is a lecture and demonstration day planned to reach anywhere between 1,300-1,600 attendees. It is held all day, the day before Market opens. Intended as an informational forum with presentations on products, techniques, and books, Schoolhouse gives Market exhibitors a chance to gain a competitive edge regarding products or services to shop owners or teachers in attendance.
The basic format is a 30-minute lecture or demo, with 15-minute spots available. This is still product driven, but meant to be informative, and not offer just a strong sales pitch. Hands-on work should not be included.

You are welcome to propose all three options. The Take & Teach and Schoolhouse proposals require that you be an exhibitor at the same edition of Quilt Market.
For more information or proposal forms, please contact Jill Benge, Manager of Education, at JillB@Quilts.com
