Laura Lee Fritz—Quilting is Not an Afterthought
Quilting is not a formula, not a second-thought, not an afterthought. This is not by accident. From the evidence, most quilters are not aware how simple the process of adding interest in the quilting line can be. They are also not aware that there are steps they can take to learn more about the quilt they are preparing to stitch. Laura will show how she navigates the choices she uses in quilting. See the low-cost, safe, and easy tools she uses to make the processes easy. These processes are the same for her special quilts and for the wonderful quilts of her tens-of-thousands of clients. www.lauraleefritz.net
Sue Heinz—360° Grids—Mesmerizing Designs that are Oh, So Easy to Sew!

Jenny K. Lyon—Yes You CAN Quilt with "That" Thread!
Super heavy or super thin threads, metallic, silk, or even wool thread can rock your quilt! Most quilters stay in the "safe" zone of 30 to 60 weight cotton threads. Jenny will take the fear out of using these threads and show great examples of each type of thread in action. See that these beauties can make your quilt over-the-top special. www.quiltskipper.com
Kate Quinn—Exploring the Templee Quilt (Raw Edge Appliqué) Method
Join Sew Steady Education Ambassador, Kate Quinn, as she demonstrates the unique Templee Quilting method. This raw-edge, reverse appliqué technique allows you to do some simple preparation of your quilt sandwich and completely quilt it before worrying about the appliqué elements. Once the quilting is completely finished, decide on the design by marking areas that will be cut away to reveal the bright peek-a-boo fabric underneath. The results are striking and offer a much more complex and dynamic quilting design than just quilting alone. Kate offers some important tips and tricks to help students accomplish this technique more easily and achieve better design results. www.fabrikatedquilts.com
Carol Wilhoit—Walking Foot Quilted Valentines

Quilting with the walking foot is easy and the learning curve is short. The demonstration will include multiple options for quilting the heart, how to incorporate trapunto to emphasize the design, and how to use the quilted hearts to make mug rugs that are perfect Valentines.
