Working on a pre-pieced background (provided in kit), this class includes hand embroidery, beading, and introduction to working with ribbon. A woven basket filled with flowers is the focal point and no green thumb is required. Stitches include French knot, satin stitch bud and flower, fishbone stitch, feather, double feather, pistil stitch, stem stitch, backstitch, woven ribbed flower, padded spoked rose, and bead loops. Other techniques include ombré ribbon rosettes, ribbon roses, and knotted ribbon flowers. Crazy piecing and dying lace will be discussed. Will not be finished in class. Finished size is 10 inches x 13 inches. Project could be framed. Prerequisite—basic embroidery knowledge is helpful. Charms sold separately.
