Afternoon Class // 2-6 PM
Everyone, Design Work, Process Oriented, Sewing Machines Provided in Class
Aren't church windows beautiful, with their lovely colors, luminescence, and shaped blocks? Wouldn't you enjoy creating your own "stained-glass" work of textile art? This beautiful wallhanging is a fun way to learn how to create lovely stained glass in fabric. The gorgeous window scene will be uniquely your own because you choose which colors to use and arrange them to suit your aesthetic. Students explore bold, graphic design through clean, rectilinear forms while learning techniques on color theory, freehand rotary cutting, shape, chiaroscuro in fabric, improvisational piecing, stippling, and using bias tape. Learners become designers through their individual design decisions, improv approaches, and quilting motifs. Furthermore, leave with practical techniques you can apply to other traditional blocks so that new design concepts and a fresh perspective become the norm for future projects. www.marymarcotte.com
