In this hands-on workshop, students will choose from a varied collection of pre-printed, full-color direct to film (DTF) iron-on motifs, patterns, and design elements to create their own custom fabric compositions. Participants will learn how to arrange and combine these designs to build unique quilt blocks, mini whole-cloth quilts, or original fabric panels that can later be incorporated into larger quilt projects. Gain practical experience using both household irons and portable heat presses to properly apply DTF transfers to quilting cotton. Emphasis will be placed on placement, design balance, and achieving clean, durable results. By the end of class, each student will leave with a personalized fabric piece ready for quilting, embellishing, or further creative exploration. Skills covered—fabric compatibility, heat press vs. home iron, peeling techniques (hot vs. cold), preventing cracking or lifting, washing and care.
